He is from Hamamatsu-shi, Shizuoka. He longed abroad since he was young, he dropped out of University. He visited to Australia at 22 years old. By the introduction of the owner of the local real estate company, he joined the restaurant. That was the beginning of the chef “TETSUYA”. He decided to become the chef while he worked at a restaurant. At the age of 27, he became independent by joint investment. He bought the building at 29 years old, and in 1989, he opened “TETSUYA’S” in Rozelle. It moved to the present location in 2000. He wins the best restaurant of “good food guide” magazine many times and links the name in the high rank of the world top restaurant in world best restaurant 50 of “Sanpellegrino”. In 2010, he did soft opening “Waku Ghin” in a Singaporean casino. There is not the person who does not know the name of “TETSUYA” in world epicures now.
