After failing college entrance exams and retaking them a year later, he entered the University of Tokyo. Afterwards, he joined the Japanese National Railways. He was assigned to Kanazawa Railway Bureau of Administrative Services. Afterwards, while moving alternately in this Kanazawa Railway Bureau of Administrative Services and head office, he contributed to the revitalization of the organization. He promoted Japanese National Railways privatization, and to JR East after the division. He couple his name with another’s to the director in due course, in June, 2009, he took office as the president of Nippon Restaurant Enterprise Co., Ltd. that is restaurant section of the group.
